Matt & Jackie
It was a hot and beautiful sunny day in Oamaru! I arrived at Jackie’s Bridesmaid Kim’s house where the girls were getting ready. Everyone was excited and enjoying bubbles and nibbles. After hair and makeup and a few last minute touches we were off to the ceremony. I headed for Jackie’s parents’ farm about 2km up the road while Jackie, Kim and her Dad headed for Oamaru airport.
At the farm the guests were mingling and waiting for the bride to arrive. The sound of a plane could be heard in the distance and before we knew it, over flies Jackie with Matt’s brother flying the plane! Only a few people knew so it was a big surprise! The guests cheered as the plane flew over a couple of times before landing in a nearby paddock.
A 1950’s Volkswagen brought Jackie from the plane to the ceremony. It used to be Grandad’s – Matt was super clever and got it working again for the wedding – so special!
The wedding ceremony was beautiful in the garden. We took a few photos afterwards before heading to the Oamaru Gardens. Before long the weather had decided to pack up and rain! We rushed back to the cars and went to our one last stop at the old Oamaru train station before arriving at Northstar for the reception.
Matt and Jackie, what an awesome day! Thank you so much for inviting me to capture it – have an amazing time in the USA for your honeymoon!
